Hello! My name is Melissa and I love to sleep! One of my favorite parts of the day is getting into bed at night, laying my head on my trusted pillow, and falling peacefully asleep.
My oldest child was born in 2016 and changed my life in the best of ways, except for my sleep! I knew practically nothing about teaching a baby how to sleep and I thought it was my job to get my son to sleep for every nap and at bedtime. So I fed him, rocked him, and bounced him to sleep. I was exhausted all the time and by the time my son turned 3 months old I told my husband something had to change because I could not function anymore. I did some online research and found Sleep Sense. Dana’s program LITERALLY changed our lives. Our son started sleeping through the night on his own in 3 nights, he was a happy baby, AND I was a well rested, happier mother. We used the Sleep Sense method with our subsequent daughters and also hired Certified Sleep Consultants to help us create ideal sleep schedules.
My Background and Experience
I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). After receiving my Masters in Behavioral Sciences, I started in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) working with individuals with Autism in 2010.
I am a certified sleep consultant through the Sleep Sence program who has successfully completed training, worked with numerous practice clients, and continuously updates my skills through ongoing education.
